The 2019 Oscar Peterson International Jazz Festival opens with the Juno-Award winning Christine Jensen Jazz Orchestra, featuring trumpeter Ingrid Jensen.
Christine Jensen is a force in Canadian music, both a major voice on the saxophone and a lauded composer with two JUNO awards to her credit. JazzTimes stated, “Jensen’s formidable orrchestra is the glistening sunlight, the tranquility and force of the ocean, and the majestic trees that her music imagines.”
Hear an extraordinary evening of pure Canadian jazz that will spotlight Christine’s sister, Ingrid, who is also an inventive and prolific talent. The band is also brimming with Canadian jazz stars including, guitarist Lorne Lofsky, saxophonists Joel Miller, Perry White and Kelly Jefferson among many others.

The Joe Sullivan Big Band invites saxophonist Kirk MacDonald, trumpet player Kevin Turcotte and guitarist Lorne Lofsky for a concert not to be missed! Several new compositions by Sullivan and his colleague Jean Fréchette will be on the menu. There will also be Jean-Nicholas Trottier, Al McLean, Dave Laing and all the other members of this excellent formation.
